The best marketing measurement tool depends on the decision. Attribution helps a media buyer inspect campaigns. Incrementality tests causal lift. Marketing mix modeling supports portfolio budgets. First-party collection determines whether the conversion reaches any of those methods.
This shortlist covers seven different fits. It was reviewed against vendor documentation in September 2026.
| Tool | Best fit | Main measurement approach |
|---|---|---|
| Hardal | Teams that need accurate first-party web and mobile outcomes | Server-side collection, analytics, attribution, activation |
| Measured | Enterprise brands running causal media programs | Incrementality testing and test-calibrated MMM |
| Rockerbox | Complex brands that want three methods in one vendor | MTA, MMM, and incrementality testing |
| Triple Whale | Ecommerce teams on a broad operating platform | Ecommerce attribution, MMM, and incrementality by plan |
| Northbeam | Ecommerce performance teams focused on media allocation | MTA, deterministic views, and MMM+ |
| AppsFlyer | App-led and cross-device businesses | Mobile and web attribution plus incrementality |
| Google Meridian | Data science teams building their own MMM | Open-source Bayesian MMM |
1. Hardal
Hardal fits teams whose first problem is missing or fragmented conversion data. The measurement platform collects web, iOS, Android, and server events as first-party data, applies governance rules, and sends the same permitted signal to analytics, ad platforms, CRMs, and warehouses.
Choose Hardal when you need the collection and activation layer as well as attribution reports. It can run as a managed cloud service or on your infrastructure. If your warehouse already receives complete events and you only need a statistical MMM, choose a specialist or an open-source model instead.
The proof is in recovered outcomes. arabam.com measured 80.1% more PageView data and 22.8% more purchases after moving critical events from browser-only delivery to Hardal's server-side collection.
2. Measured
Measured focuses on enterprise media effectiveness. Its current platform combines incrementality experiments, media mix modeling, portfolio reporting, and planning.
Choose Measured when causal testing and budget reallocation are the main job and the organization has enough spend, conversion volume, and operational control to run an ongoing experiment program.
3. Rockerbox
Rockerbox combines multi-touch attribution, MMM, and incrementality testing on one marketing data foundation. Its positioning is explicit about using different methods for different questions and calibrating models with tests.
Choose Rockerbox when a complex brand wants a managed, multi-method measurement program and needs online and offline channel coverage.
4. Triple Whale
Triple Whale is an ecommerce operating platform with first-party attribution, business intelligence, AI workflows, and broad commerce integrations. Its Enterprise Compass package adds MMM and incrementality capabilities, while paid pricing varies by annual GMV and package.
Choose Triple Whale when Shopify or ecommerce operations, reporting, attribution, and AI-assisted workflows should live together. Confirm which measurement modules are included in the quoted package.
5. Northbeam
Northbeam focuses on ecommerce media measurement. It offers first-party multi-touch attribution, several credit models, deterministic view data for participating platforms, and MMM+.
Choose Northbeam when the performance team needs detailed paid-media attribution and planning for an ecommerce business. Its pricing varies with pageview volume, product tier, and contract structure.
6. AppsFlyer
AppsFlyer's Measurement Suite covers mobile, web, CTV, PC, and console measurement. Its products include attribution, analytics, server-to-server postbacks, and automated incrementality experiments.
Choose AppsFlyer when mobile apps drive the customer journey or app and web attribution must share one measurement partner.
7. Google Meridian
Meridian is Google's open-source Bayesian marketing mix model. Your team supplies the KPI, media, reach and frequency, and control data, then owns the modeling workflow.
Choose Meridian when you have data science capacity and want to build, inspect, and maintain an MMM instead of buying a managed platform. The software is open source. The data preparation, validation, interpretation, and maintenance still require people.
How to choose
Write down the decisions the tool must support during the next quarter. Then ask each vendor to show the source conversion, identity rule, attribution window, uncertainty, and export behind one answer.
Use attribution for observed journeys, incrementality testing for causal lift, and MMM for portfolio allocation. If the conversion dataset is incomplete, fix collection before comparing models.
