About the Role

Hardal is a privacy-first server-side analytics and marketing measurement platform, and we're growing fast. As our first People & Culture hire, you won't be stepping into a polished HR department. You'll be building one from the ground up.

You'll own the full employee experience — from the moment someone applies to the day they become a core part of our team and culture.

If you've only maintained HR processes at an established company, this isn't for you. If you want to architect something from scratch and genuinely care about people, keep reading.

Responsibilities

  • Design and lead the end-to-end hiring process — sourcing, outreach, competency-based interviews, and closing — across technical and non-technical roles
  • Build and own our onboarding program so every new hire hits the ground running and feels genuinely welcomed from day one
  • Shape and protect Hardal's culture as we scale — translating our values into tangible rituals, practices, and ways of working
  • Be the connective tissue of the team — noticing tensions early, supporting people through challenges, and keeping the pulse of the organization
  • Own HR operations: employment contracts, compliance, policies, and the administrative backbone that keeps things running smoothly
  • Partner with founders and team leads on org design, performance feedback, and people development
  • Manage and improve our talent pipeline and recruitment tooling to help us hire faster and smarter
  • Own and evolve the Hardal Handbook, keeping it accurate, alive, and genuinely useful as our cultural north star as the company grows
  • Contribute to Hardal's employer brand, helping us attract exceptional people who share our values

Requirements

  • Proven hands-on recruiting experience — you've run the full cycle, not just screened CVs
  • Deep fluency in competency-based interviewing — you know how to separate signal from noise in a 45-minute conversation
  • Strong situational awareness — you read the room naturally, understand team dynamics, and notice what isn't being said
  • High empathy paired with analytical thinking — you care deeply about people and can still make sharp, data-informed decisions
  • Comfortable with operational chaos — onboarding, contracts, scheduling, and whatever else needs doing today
  • Excellent written and spoken English — you'll communicate with candidates and partners across multiple geographies
  • Startup DNA: you create structure where none exists and don't wait to be told what to do

What We're Really Looking For

Beyond the checklist: we're looking for someone who is genuinely good-hearted. Skills can be learned. Empathy, curiosity, and the ability to make people feel seen — those come with the person.

Benefits

  • Work directly with the founders at a pivotal stage of growth
  • Collaborative, no-BS team culture with high standards and genuine trust
  • Home-office setup support
  • Flexible working hours
