Side Gigs and Projects
Our approach to side work, personal projects, and outside professional activities
We know that many talented people have interests and skills that extend beyond their day-to-day work. At Hardal, we support team members pursuing side projects as long as these activities don't conflict with our collective work. Once, Hardal was also a weekend project too!
Our Approach
Hardal is a new company with not-so-many team members. We don't have the luxury to not to be focused on Hardal. Your role at Hardal comes first however, if you have side gigs that you want to pursue, we expect you to:
- Ensure you're bringing your best energy to Hardal
- Not to put the side gig first priority
- Not working with direct competitors
- Not using Hardal's confidential information, code, or intellectual property
- Not using company resources
- Not recruiting Hardal team members
Be open about it
We value transparency. Here's how to disclose side activities:
- For minor activities (blog posts, occasional side gig): Simply notify us
- For significant commitments (long-term project): Discuss with us to make sure that we are both on the same side
What if my side project unexpectedly takes off?
Great news! Let's talk. We want to support your success and find arrangements that work for everyone.
Remember: Open communication is key. When in doubt, just ask!
