# Enable ChatGPT Ads Conversion Tracking with Hardal

Hardal now connects to OpenAI Ads for server-side web conversion delivery, letting advertisers measure ChatGPT Ads campaigns without client-side pixels.

ChatGPT has become a major discovery platform. With the launch of ChatGPT Ads, marketers can now run advertising campaigns directly inside ChatGPT, a new acquisition channel.

As with any new channel, measurement is what decides whether it's worth the spend. Which campaigns are driving conversions? How does performance compare with the rest of the media mix? Answering that requires connecting ChatGPT Ads to the same conversion data everything else already reports on.

Hardal now supports **OpenAI Ads** as a destination for server-side web conversion delivery. Supported web events are delivered to OpenAI as conversion events without a client-side pixel, the same first-party, server-side approach Hardal already uses for GA4, Meta CAPI, and TikTok Events API.

## Prerequisites

- An **OpenAI Pixel ID**, found in your OpenAI Ads destination settings
- An **OpenAI API Key**, the API key configured for sending events to the same OpenAI Ads destination

## Setup

1. Go to **Destinations → + Add → OpenAI Ads** (Marketing category)
2. Enter your credentials:
   - **OpenAI Pixel ID**, your OpenAI Ads pixel identifier
   - **OpenAI API Key**, the API key used to send conversion events
3. Click **Connect**, then open the destination's settings and select **Activate**

Supported web events are mapped to OpenAI conversion events automatically once the destination is active, no manual event mapping required.

## Testing

In the **Advanced** tab, toggle on **Validate Only**. OpenAI validates requests without fully processing them, so you can test the connection before it affects live campaign data. Turn it off before sending production conversion events.

## Verify delivery

Check **Recent Activity** for the OpenAI icon with a "Success" status to confirm events are reaching OpenAI Ads.
